“Therapy is one of the best decisions you can make for yourself, your family, and your goals”
- Caren A. Gillison, LPC and CRC
At Invigor,
our specialty is therapy that helps individuals and groups tap into their own personal strengths and find that “get up” to fuel success.
Worry and fear are a moment and if we learn to engage them properly, they don’t have to be a barrier to the life we dream.
While we can’t always control what happens, our true power is found in how we respond to life’s unexpected events.
From substance abuse to our complex relationship with food, learning to approach addiction with the right perspective and tools can unlock a new life full of opportunities.
People navigating the criminal justice system can experience success and confusion. We offer support to better leverage these experiences for self discovery and, ultimately, a life beyond charges and offense.
With over 15 years of experience in the helping profession, Caren has been a trusted guide for individuals throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) community, fostering mental resilience and personal growth. She holds Master of Arts degrees from the University of the District of Columbia (2019) and Marymount University (2009), along with a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (2005).
Caren’s diverse expertise spans training and facilitation, private practice, public health, and mental health services, including substance abuse treatment in forensic settings. Using a Person-Centered approach, she supports clients facing challenges with mood disorders, anxiety, substance abuse, grief and loss and women’s issues. Caren’s integrative, eclectic framework, rooted in psychoanalytic principles, enables her to empower individuals to overcome obstacles and thrive in their personal journeys.
